About
Welcome to Al Capolinea Ristorante Pizzeria, a charming culinary gem nestled in the heart of Venice at Via Altinia, 141/B. This delightful ristorante captures the essence of authentic Italian dining, where a warm welcome and delectable dishes await you. As you step inside, the inviting atmosphere beckons, creating a perfect space for both family dinners and intimate gatherings.
What sets Al Capolinea apart is its commitment to traditional Italian flavors. Diners rave about the homemade dishes that taste as if they were crafted by a loving nonna. A recent guest, Nina Blacquiere, described her meal of lasagna and fettuccine as “delicious and perfect,” highlighting the freshness of the ingredients and the comforting flavors that enveloped her like a warm hug. This sentiment echoes throughout the reviews, where patrons feel at home, served by amiable staff led by the ever-charming Pasquale.
The menu offers a balanced selection of seafood and meat options, alongside an impressive variety of pizzas. A standout pizza experience was shared by Jen Romero-Stentella, who praised the restaurant for accommodating special requests, showcasing their dedication to customer satisfaction. From Frittura Mista to custom Gorgonzola and Speck pizzas, each dish is a celebration of Italian gastronomy. The mounds of gnocchetti al ragù served to Jen's daughters were evidently loved, proving Al Capolinea's appeal extends to every palate, young or old.
For those seeking a delightful meal on a Sunday, the dining experience can be equally rewarding, as noted by Paul Hayes. Although the selection may be limited, they enjoyed a sharing feast of gnocchi and beef with mushrooms paired with some local wine, reinforcing the idea that exploring local dining spots often leads to memorable culinary adventures.
The service at Al Capolinea is consistently praised, especially for their attentiveness and friendliness, which left a positive impression on Andrew Jarvis, even as an English-speaking guest. With a lovely outdoor seating area perfect for soaking in the lively Venetian ambiance, it's easy to see why many choose this spot for a leisurely lunch or dinner.

“ Quick stop for lunch. Very friendly staff, top service and warm welcome. Unfortunately we only had time for spaghetti carbonara, before we had to continue oud journey. ”
“ Busy local pizzeria. Catered to us well despite us being the only English speakers we managed as one waitress and owner or head waiter could speak English well. Food was good, drinks reasonable prices. Good outside seating area as well as it was very hot inside. ”
“ We were hungry after being at a show at the Teatro Massimo. We had started talking to Pasquale as we were passing by the restaurant about the menu and he was so charming and welcoming that we decided to dine there. Christian looked after our food and drinks. We felt at home and like we had been served food cooked by nonna herself. Everything was delicious and perfect. I had lasagna and my husband had fettuccine. It was fresh and hot. Authentic Italian food. We highly recommend dining with them, no disappointments. We will be back next time we are Palermo!! Grazie!! ”
“ So found this place within walking distance of our hotel. Sundays are limited on selection, and this place had mixed reviews. It turned out to be a great choice. I had the gnocci, and my wife had the beef with mushrooms. Of course, we shared, and it was a great meal. Of course, we had a healthy amount of local wine to wash it all down. Would recommend it to any and all. Thanks for the experience. ”
“ We were visiting Venezia for one day and were looking for a local place to eat dinner because we like to eat where the locals eat. The food was amazing, so good and fresh! We really appreciated that we were accepted without a reservation. The restaurant has lots of seating and from what I saw there’s also a take away option for pizza. The menu is half seafood and half meat with both options in appetizers, first course, second course and then there’s the pizza menu. We really appreciated that despite the fact that the pizza we ordered was not on the menu that it was made how we requested, Gorgonzola and Speck. The Frittura Mista was delicious and a big quantity. Our girls ordered gnocchetti al ragù and they really enjoyed it a lot. Then there was dessert… we ordered a salame di cioccolato and tartufo bianco affogato (another item not included in menu but they were gracious to satisfy our request). The staff was friendly and helpful. Even though we come from Chicago, Illinois and it’s quite far to come back next week, we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great seafood, pizza, pasta and the best service. ”
